MarySheyla Alvarez is an administrative support specialist in the Office of Administrative Management, Information Technology Resources Branch, where she serves as a liaison between the NCATS administrative office and the Axle human resources team to facilitate personnel action items and as the primary point of contact for Axle onsite staff.
Prior to joining NCATS in July 2019, Alvarez worked as an administrative project manager at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, where she performed personnel action items, such as credentialing clinical staff, onboarding new laboratory personnel and other tasks related to the operations of the branch. She has more than 15 years of experience as a contractor providing administrative support to all levels of management at the National Institutes of Health.
Alvarez currently is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Maryland Global Campus (formerly University of Maryland, University College), anticipating completion in fall 2025.
Alvarez is interested in administrative management. She appreciates the opportunity to use her administrative experience and analytical skills to streamline and improve work processes.
