G. Lynn MarksG. Lynn Marks, M.D., is senior vice president and senior clinical advisor for infectious diseases and senior vice president for projects, clinical platforms and sciences at GlaxoSmithKline. He serves as corporate secretary and chair of the Oversight Committee at TransCelerate BioPharma, Inc., a nonprofit organization involving 19 pharmaceutical companies with a mission to collaborate across the biopharmaceutical research and development community to identify, prioritize, design and facilitate the implementation of solutions to drive efficient, effective and high-quality delivery of new medicines. Marks has led a transformational change initiative called “Simplifying Clinical Development” and currently is responsible for Phase I to Phase IV trials over a broad range of disease and therapeutic areas, including performance metrics, clinical systems support, clinical trial contracting, outsourcing strategy and implementation, and the use of Good Clinical Practice techniques. He previously chaired and continues to serve as a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Global Alliance for TB Drug Development. In addition, Marks is a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Poliovirus Antivirals Initiative. He received his M.D. from the University of South Alabama College of Medicine and is certified in internal medicine and infectious disease.
