Tierra Clarke has served as the administrative assistant in the NCATS Office of Rare Diseases Research (ORDR) since August 2018, providing comprehensive support to executive-level ORDR staff. Clarke oversees all travel arrangements — including foreign, domestic and sponsored travel — for leadership and other program staff. She also manages complex, frequently changing local and international schedules for senior staff. Prior to joining the ORDR, Clarke spent two years as the receptionist at NCATS, managing the front desk and greeting numerous visitors, including special guests, vendors and potential job candidates.
Before coming to NIH, Clark spent six years at the Pacific Institute for Research & Evaluation in Beltsville, Maryland, where she served in numerous roles, including as an administrator for the chief of management. She also provided administrative support — including copying, collating and ensuring attention to detail in numerous projects and related materials — to multiple departments.
Clarke enjoys analyzing administrative policies and gaining knowledge about program management. She is dedicated to fully supporting the NCATS ORDR staff in the fulfillment of the Center’s mission.
