Brandin DeChabert joined the NCATS Division of Clinical Innovation (DCI) as a staff assistant in January 2017. His primary responsibilities include providing administrative and technical support, compiling and preparing information and documentation, and assisting in making logistical arrangements as required for meetings and conferences, as well as performing other duties as assigned within DCI.
Prior to joining NCATS, DeChabert served as an extramural support assistant in the Division of Epidemiology, Services and Prevention Research at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), where he assisted in planning and coordinating the division’s logistical operations. During his time at NIDA, DeChabert volunteered for various initiatives such as the Combined Federal Campaign and the NIDA Crisis Response Team. Additionally, he participated — first as an attendee, then a coordinator — in the NIH Management Seminar Series in consecutive years.
DeChabert earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology in 2000 from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
DeChabert believes that an organization must include a comprehensive administrative staff to effectively fulfill its vision. He is committed to working alongside NCATS leadership to ensure that the Center clearly and concisely communicates its mission to the scientific community.
