Biography

Bobbi Gardner is a public affairs specialist in the Communications Branch of NCATS’ Office of Policy, Communications and Education, where she serves as a strategic communications lead for the Center’s Division of Clinical Innovation and beyond. She develops and implements tactical communications plans and activities, including messaging and website content, for the Clinical and Translational Science Awards Program and the Discovering New Therapeutic Uses for Existing Molecules program. Gardner also contributes to and helps coordinate NCATS’ media relations efforts and news announcements and provides editorial oversight of social media content. 

Gardner has been with NCATS since its inception in December 2011 and with NIH since 2009. Previously, she served for eight years in the health and wellness practice at Porter Novelli, a global public relations firm. During that time, she worked on consumer health information campaigns with a broad range of clients, including the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Gardner holds a bachelor’s degree in integrated strategic communications from the University of Kentucky.

Professional Interests

Gardner is dedicated to clearly communicating the great insights and promising discoveries in medical research. She believes that broadly disseminating this knowledge is key to reducing illness and enhancing health.
