Rebecca Katz is a project coordinator for Petra Kaufmann, M.D., M.Sc. In addition to maintaining Kaufmann’s schedule, she provides administrative and programmatic support. Before joining NCATS, Katz worked for the American Museum of Natural History in New York and other nonprofit organizations as a coordinator for community-based and educational projects.
Katz received a bachelor’s degree in art history and English from Duke University and a master’s degree in printmaking from California College of the Arts. She is a practicing artist and a screen print associate at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center.
Katz is passionate about findings that provide evidence of empathy and cooperation across the animal kingdom. She is also interested in community-driven initiatives that mobilize people to protect animals, especially endangered species.
