Antonette Neal is a council and committee management assistant in the Office of the DEA Director within NCATS’ Division of Extramural Activities, where she provides comprehensive support to all division functions related to the NCATS Advisory Council and the Cures Acceleration Network (CAN) Review Board.

Logistically, Antonette ensures efficient meeting site management, arranges all meeting facilities, and follows up to ensure functionality and testing of audiovisual, acoustical and other facility-provided equipment for Advisory Council and CAN Review Board meetings and other events. She arranges transportation for the Advisory Council and CAN Review Board members, ensures that NIH badging and lunch arrangements are made and monitored, and optimizes seating arrangements. Antonette assembles pre-Advisory Council and CAN Review Board meeting materials; maintains Advisory Council and CAN Review Board member records, including usernames and passwords; and supports activities related to expedited application review by the Advisory Council for each round, ensuring that all members assigned to this task respond by the deadline and that their responses are uploaded. Antonette also maintains budget and expense data related to the Advisory Council and CAN Review Board.

For Advisory Council and CAN Review Board operations, Antonette prepares and reviews final open- and closed-session materials in preparation for dissemination to Advisory Council members and Center staff, attends Advisory Council meetings to assist in ensuring compliance with applicable conflict-of-interest policies, stays informed of members’ interests, and notes significant developments and recommendations that may require further action. She maintains internal lists related to Advisory Council members’ information and needs, supports internal review and approval of meeting minutes, and ensures the chairperson’s approval is obtained.

Antonette also provides general office support, handling miscellaneous administrative tasks for the division.

Before joining NCATS’ Division of Extramural Activities, she was a council and committee management assistant in the Office of Research Infrastructure Programs from December 2011 to January 2012. Previously, Antonette served as a council and committee management assistant at the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) from 2000 to 2011.
