Shannon Oden

Biography

Shannon Oden is a grants management specialist in the Grants Management Branch, Grants Section A, within NCATS’ Division of Extramural Activities, where she manages the pre- and post-award administration of a complex grant and cooperative agreement portfolio. In this capacity, she ensures that nonfederal entities comply with all federal regulations and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and NIH policies and procedures. Oden serves as the liaison for all supplement applications and is the lead point of contact for financial conflicts of interest and establishing Employer Identification Numbers. She also helps to manage all incoming and outgoing co-funding. Oden previously served as an agreement specialist for Other Transactions Awards and the Stimulating Peripheral Activity to Relieve Conditions (SPARC) program, participating in the day-to-day communications and management of the awards.

Prior to joining NCATS, Oden served as a grants management specialist at the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) from September 2010 to December 2011. Before her tenure at NCRR, she worked at the NIH Center for Scientific Review (CSR) as an administrative assistant in the Division of Receipt and Referral and, prior to that, as a grants technical assistant in the Surgery, Radiology and Bioengineering Integrated Review Group, also within the CSR.

Oden holds a Level III certification in the NIH Grants Management Professional Certification program.

Oden is dedicated to the efficient and appropriate stewardship of federal taxpayer dollars while supporting the acceleration of NCATS’ mission.
