Biography

Angela Steadman is a public affairs specialist in the Communications Branch within NCATS’ Office of Policy, Communications and Education, where she serves as the lead on all NCATS social media platforms and provides support for media relations, news announcements, editorial review, and Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) Program communications. She develops and implements strategic communications plans, including messaging and website content.

Prior to joining NCATS in May 2022, Steadman served as a public affairs specialist for five years at the U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, where she provided direct support to the U.S. Navy Surgeon General in communicating the Navy Medicine mission. She also issued professional guidance to regional public affairs specialists supporting Navy Medicine around the world. During her Navy tenure, Steadman held numerous roles — she supported media relations and responded to inquiries, managed social media platforms and conducted outreach analysis, coordinated media training, planned strategic communications and outreach, and served as a legislative affairs liaison.

Steadman earned her Master’s degree in public relations and corporate communications from Georgetown University in 2020 and her Bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Towson University in 2014.

Professional Interests

Steadman enjoys working in the public health and science field and is dedicated to clearly communicating the accomplishments and promising discoveries in medical research.
