Biography

Sabine C. Alexander is a staff assistant in the Office of the Director, where she provides administrative support to the director and other members of the office, including the associate director for special initiatives and the director of drug development partnership programs. Alexander joined NCATS in 2014 as a receptionist and has actively pursued opportunities for advancement by demonstrating her strengths and resourcefulness in helping to advance the Center’s mission. She has extensive experience performing a wide range of administrative duties—including scheduling and correspondence—and is knowledgeable in the use of multiple travel systems.

Before joining NCATS, Alexander worked as a member operations coordinator at the Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors, where she provided quality customer service and performed various operational duties. She also has professional experience in retail marketing and event planning.

Alexander currently is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maryland Global Campus (formerly University of Maryland, University College), anticipating completion in October 2020.

Professional Interests

Alexander is enrolled in, or has completed, several extensive development and administrative training courses to further her career. Currently, she also is participating in the NCATS/National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) Mentoring Program, which will enable her to establish a career-development plan to further enhance her knowledge of how NIH works to prevent disease and improve human health.
