Biography

Megan P. Jackson, M.A., is a communications specialist in the Communications Branch of NCATS’ Office of Policy, Communications and Education, where she writes, edits, produces and shares materials on the center’s programs and activities for a variety of stakeholder groups. She also develops and manages website content.

Prior to joining NCATS, Jackson served as a health communications specialist at the Bureau of Health Workforce, Health Resources and Services Administration, within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In that capacity, she provided direct support to the Nurse Corps Scholarship and Loan Repayment Programs, which provide financial assistance to health care providers serving in medically underserved areas. Prior to joining the federal government, Jackson worked at the Scripps Research Translational Institute, where she provided health communication support for the All of Us Research Program, developing and editing materials to recruit 350,000 participants into this million-person cohort program.

Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and a master’s degree in health and risk communication from Michigan State University.

Jackson enjoys working in public health to bring health communication principles, including plain language, to every project to improve human health.
