Evelyn M. Kimbrough, Ph.D., is an American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Technology Policy Fellow. She works in the Education Branch of NCATS’ Office of Policy, Communications and Education. She supports Division of Preclinical Innovation intramural training activities and fosters a diverse, inclusive research environment.

Kimbrough received her doctorate in biological chemistry from Emory University in 2023. Her dissertation work used biochemical and structural biology techniques to study transfer RNA (tRNA). She looked at how tRNA changes regulate the bacterial ribosome's ability to maintain the reading frame of the genetic code. Kimbrough also received a Bachelor of Science in chemistry with a biological emphasis and a physics minor at the University of Utah. There, she conducted nucleic acid research.

At Emory, Kimbrough co-developed a Macromolecules Lab course. This interdisciplinary course taught biological and chemical polymer science in a cohesive setting. She also held student executive leadership positions for the Pi Alpha Chemical Society, Emory's chapter of the Association for Women in Science, and the Emory Science Advocacy Network. She organized dozens of scientific outreach events, coordinated professional development workshops, and scheduled public talks with renowned scientists.
