Biography
Tierra E. Clarke is an administrative assistant in NCATS' Division of Rare Diseases Research Innovation, where she provides comprehensive program support to executive-level division staff. Clarke oversees all travel arrangements and budget expenses — including foreign, domestic and sponsored travel — for leadership and other program staff. She also manages complex, frequently changing local and international schedules for senior staff. Prior to joining the division in 2018, Clarke spent two years as the receptionist at NCATS, managing the front desk and greeting numerous visitors, including special guests, vendors and potential job candidates.
Before coming to NIH, Clarke spent six years at the Pacific Institute for Research & Evaluation in Beltsville, Maryland, where she served in numerous roles, including as an executive administrator for the chief of management. She also provided administrative support — including creating statistical reports, developing meeting agendas for executive briefings and ensuring attention to detail in numerous projects and related materials — to multiple departments. Clarke currently is enrolled at the University of Maryland, where she is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in information science.
Professional Interests
Clarke enjoys analyzing administrative policies and gaining knowledge about Program Management. She is dedicated to fully supporting the NCATS Division of Rare Diseases Research Innovation staff in the fulfillment of the center’s mission.
