Biography
Stephen G. Seidel is the deputy director of the Policy Branch within NCATS' Office of Policy, Communications and Education, where he formulates science policy strategies, tools and solutions to translational research challenges. He provides expert scientific policy and analytical input on strategic and operational planning, and he develops technical analyses and reports related to the NCATS-funded research portfolio. Seidel serves as NCATS’ congressional liaison and facilitates communications and interactions between the center and Congress. Prior to the establishment of NCATS, he served since 1992 in a similar capacity at the National Center for Research Resources.
Seidel holds a bachelor of science degree in molecular and cell biology from the Pennsylvania State University.
Professional Interests
Seidel enjoys educating members of Congress and their staffs on the center’s unique mission to improve the translation of research results into new and better treatments for patients.
