A Positive Update on N3C

Dear N3C Community,

Thank you for your continued patience and partnership this year as we work to ensure the N3C platform continues to serve this community. In our last communication, we shared that we were working closely with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to chart the best long-term course for this national collaborative.

We are pleased to report that a path forward is now in sight. While the platform will still pause operations on December 12, 2025, to facilitate necessary infrastructure updates, we anticipate re-opening the platform in early 2026.

Our priority is to restore and deliver an updated platform that provides the same trusted access and user experience you have relied on, including NCATS system ownership, data stewardship, and rigorous security and privacy safeguards. Additionally, we are exploring ways this transition will enable new research capabilities in the near future.

To keep you informed, we will host an N3C community forum in January 2026. Please stay tuned for additional information and ways to engage with us.

Thank you for your dedication, collaboration, and resilience. N3C exists because of this community, and we are committed to bringing it back stronger than ever with you.

Now that the N3C Platform’s temporary open window has closed, we want to reassure you that our team remains here to support you throughout this transition. If you missed the opportunity to download your project code during the open window, we are committed to helping you access it. To assist with this, we’ve made a limited-time intake form available for users here: https://n3c-help.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/73

• This intake form can only be used to request a backup of your project code.
• This form cannot be used to retrieve data or submit new download requests.

N3C No Meeting Weeks: Dec. 15, 2025 - Jan. 5, 2026

In observance of the upcoming holidays, Dec. 15, 2025–Jan. 5, 2026, will be designated as No Meeting Weeks for the N3C Program. During this time, all regular meetings, including N3C Office Hours, will be paused. We look forward to reconvening during our regularly scheduled meeting time once the N3C Platform reopens in early 2026. Until then, wishing you all a wonderful holiday season and a bright start to the new year!
