Biography

Sarah Berson is a writer and editor in the NCATS Communications Branch, where she focuses on content development, web content strategy and communications planning to share news about NCATS and progress in translational science.

Berson joined NCATS after 10 years in the private sector as a contractor providing editorial, strategic communications and project management support to federal science agencies, including the NIH’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the All of Us Research Program, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, and the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice.

Berson holds a bachelor’s degree in scientific and philosophical studies of mind from Franklin & Marshall College and a J.D. from the University of Virginia.

Professional Interests

Berson has long been fascinated by human interactions with computers and how those interactions shape how people experience the world and engage with each other. She enjoys addressing the challenges posed by the rapidly changing digital communications landscape and using data analysis and communications research to strategically structure, develop and disseminate information.
